Rainbow Leather isn’t just a mixed media experiment, it’s a decolonial reckoning in visual form. This work obliterates the boundaries between medium, identity, and imagination, offering a new visual language rooted in truth, beauty, and justice.

At its core, Rainbow Leather begins with the body, my body, posed with intention, shaped by lived experience, and grounded in unapologetic presence.

From there, the work steps into the realm of the algorithm, not as surrender to AI, but as a radical intervention. I generate AI models that don’t flatten identity but center communities of color, amplifying the very code meant to erase us. These models don’t “represent” diversity, they embody survival, resistance, and futurity. Then, overlaid onto my original image, this becomes a dual witnessing: of myself and my community, of what is and what’s yet to be.

But Rainbow Leather doesn’t stop there. It moves into Procreate and Photoshop, each stroke of color and light a further act of transformation. Lighting becomes metaphor. Color becomes memory. Shadow becomes language.

The result? A techno-spiritual, Afro-Indigenous-futurist, trans-visual tapestry that refuses to be boxed in. This isn’t just a new method. This is a new canon.
