Kai Romero
Director of Global Relations, Mod Atlas Media
As a proud graduate of Wharton’s MBA program, I’ve navigated the tech industry as part of the 1% of Latinx representation—a journey marked by both resilience and triumph. Being a Queer woman in tech has presented its share of challenges, from navigating biases to proving my place in an industry where diversity is often lacking. Yet, these hurdles have only fueled my drive to push boundaries and create space for others.
From Google to Microsoft
At Google, I pioneered HR innovations, using data and machine learning to improve employee performance evaluations and reduce bias. Moving to Microsoft, I led diversity and inclusion initiatives, increasing minority leadership representation by 25%. Negotiating multi-million-dollar labor contracts and overseeing HR policies for over 5,000 employees sharpened my strategic expertise and commitment to equitable business practices.
MOD ATLAS MEDIA: Director of Global Relations
Today, I’m the Director of Global Relations at MOD ATLAS MEDIA, where I focus on revolutionizing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) through AI-driven solutions. My role is to forge impactful partnerships, expand our global footprint, and help brands across industries embrace inclusive, forward-thinking strategies.
In every role, my goal has remained the same: to break barriers, elevate underrepresented voices, and create lasting, positive change in the tech landscape.
